What procedure do I follow if my student is ill or will be absent?

Guidelines to follow when your student is ill:

  1. Always call the front office to notify them of your student's absence.
  2. If your student goes to the doctor, dentist, therapy, etc. get a note to turn into the front office.  This will excuse your student for that time.

Students will be sent home for the following reasons:

  1. Temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher.
  2. After vomitting occasionally.  Sometimes students get anxious or certain foods do not agree with their stomach.  If there is no fever associated with the vomitting, I will leave it up to the student.
  3. Diarrhea.  Parents will be consulted.
  4. Migraines and upset stomachs:  Students will be expected to try interventions at school before going home.
  5. Repeat illnesses will require a doctor's note for continued absences to be excused.

Homework

  1. If your student will be ill for a few days, please request homework from the front office.
  2. If your student will be going on vacation, please notify the office and request homework in advance.
